The Lord Jesus Christ
Direct print on linden panel.
The Orthodox Church Tradition attributes the creation of the original Vernicle to Christ Himself and considers the icon to be an evidence of INcarnation, of God's Son coming to the world in the likeness of men. The main aim of Incarnation was the Salvation of men, made through the Propitiatory Sacrifice. Feast day - August 29 (16 by Julian calendar).
